Marissa Oxman is Core Law Group, LLP’s managing Family Law associate and a member of the firm’s Criminal Defense practice group.  She came to Core Law Group from one of California’s largest Plaintiff’s class action firms.  In addition to her family law, private criminal defense, and class action experience, she has experience with employment law, the Public Defender, and as extern for a federal district court judge.  Her favorite aspect of her practice is helping good people on their worst days.

Ms. Oxman is a Southern California native.  She grew up in Fullerton, California and attended Rosary High School.  She was a double anteater – with undergraduate and law school degrees from UC Irvine.  As an undergraduate, she received degrees in Political Science and Dance, graduated magna cum laude, received the Order of Merit for founding the university’s nationally ranked mock trial team, and won more attorney awards than any female undergraduate mock trial competitor in the United States.  She was a member of the second graduating class at UC Irvine’s School of Law.  She was a Research Editor on the UC Irvine Law Review, recipient of Pro Bono High Honors upon graduation, and the recipient of multiple trial advocacy honors-two time Best Advocate and Champion of UC Irvine School of Law’s Trial Advocacy Competition, UC Irvine School of Law’s Faculty Award for Trial Advocacy, Best Advocate & Best Brief at UC Hasting’s Moot Court Competition, Best Advocate at the National Appellate Advocacy Competition, and named one of the country’s most prestigious trial advocates at Baylor Law School’s “Top Gun” Trial Competition.

Ms. Oxman teaches trial advocacy-courtroom decorum, examination and statement technique, rules of evidence, and public speaking skills-as private consultant.  She is a classically trained ballerina and an accordion world champion.  She hates wearing shoes, loves sitting on the floor, and will eat any spicy food placed in front of her.
